About me

I am specialised in upgrade kits and accessories for the Gaggia Classic / Classic Pro / Classic EVO models, dedicated to match the cup quality of your favourite specialty Café.

HISTORY

As a coffee enthusiast, in 2016 I decided to go down the rabbit hole of specialty coffee. To start with, I had to replace my Delonghi toy to something more capable, as my first proper home setup.

After an exhausting research it was obvious to start with a pre 2015 Gaggia Classic. I am a fan of recycling, upcycling, reusing, repairing, so I did not mind to buy a second hand machine. I took it apart straight away, gave it a good clean (powered by OCD) and assembled it.

It was time to gain experience in pulling shots and modding the machine, it takes a long time and tonnes of bad coffee to go down the sink, but at the end there are consistent good shots 🙂

Than I thought there might be others whom want to get in the game, but not have enough time, tools or expertise to rebuild their machine, so I decided to buy another secondhand machine and rebuild it as I did my own one ((un)fortunately I have no standards below that). Bang on, there was someone who paid for all the hours I spent on it…

As I kept the highest standards on the market, I used to build highly modified Gaggia Classics for orders for customers mainly in the UK. I offered numerous upgrades, and kept working on improvements of existing ones I was not entirely happy about (there is a lot if you are a perfectionist).

My first development was the flutter-free pressure gauge, tapped into the grouphead. It was a lot of fun to develop in such a supportive environment like Coffeeforums.co.uk back than. Worth to mention it was revolutionary in that time. Followed by the LED light kit, the BoostBox, the flow control dimmer kit and all other products of mine.

As a collector I have also gained quite a nice inventory of machines which allowed me to study the minor differences throghout the 30+ years life of the Classic and sibling models.

I cannot think about it as a business, it became my hobby. I am more excited about every machine or new product I build or develop than a new bean to try to brew – and this is a big one.

MISSION

My mission is to awaken, encourage and support conscious espresso lovers to fight their urge for upgrading, by providing them with engineered, safe and quality kits to reveal all the hidden potentials of a Classic Espresso Machine, which they can maintain, service and use probably for a lifetime, because a Classic isn’t just for Christmas.

VISION

I want to become the obvious go-to person/website/YouTube channel in terms of choosing, understanding, owning, maintaining, using, repairing and upgrading a Classic, Sylvia or Lelit espresso machine worldwide, by building a website collecting all the invaluable information existing online and a webshop offering the best available modifications in a clear to browse way.
